Each group is limited to 10 clients.<Back to top>

Can I book a private adventure?
We have a 4 client minimum and we can handle up to 10 clients.  If you are a private group and you have less than 4 riders then call us so we can discuss it. <Back to top>

What about the dining and beverages?
We pride ourselves on choosing locations that offer the best food available.  Food is one area where we do not cut corners!  In most cases you'll be ordering off the menu and have the option of great steaks and fresh seafood.  Lunches can come from restaurants or from our support vehicles serving deli sandwiches by the trail side.  We will supply you with all the drinking water you'll need throughout the adventure.  Whether you're filling up your hydration system, or just brushing your teeth, you'll have plenty of bottled water. <Back to top>

Where do we sleep?
Family Off-Road Adventures believes that your accommodations are a major part of the experience.  We stay at the finest hotels, motels, haciendas, and ranchos available. You will never be disappointed with the accommodations. Some nights will have room service, spa (a massage after a long ride is nice), and Jacuzzi. Some places we stay you can walk out of your room and your feet are in the white sand of a beautiful beach! Others are a short walk from some of the best shopping and entertainment available. You will always find your night's stay to be a memorable experience.  Accommodations are based on double occupancy. <Back to top>

What should I bring?
Typical off road riding apparel is required. We are very safety conscious and believe that the more protective gear the better.  It's important to remember to pack light but feel free to bring anything that you require.  In many cases we will be near stores so you can simple buy anything that you may have forgotten to bring.  When you sign up for one of our adventures we'll supply you with a complete list of riding essentials and suggestions of what to bring. <Back to top>

What should I leave at home?
Illegal drugs and firearms are always forbidden. For our Mexican adventure they will get you a trip straight to a Mexican jail. If you are found in violation of our drug and weapons policies your adventure will be immediately terminated.  It's not worth it.  If you feel like you need to bring illegal drugs or firearms then please choose to ride with someone else.  We are a family adventure and maintain a zero tolerance policy. <Back to top>

What if I crash or get hurt?
We have an excellent safety record and are extremely safety conscious. We have some rules of the road we expect all riders to obey and we always work together as a team to help each other stay safe.  The reality is that we're dirt bike riding, people crash and its part of the experience.  All riders are provided with a 2-way radios for personal use during the tour so you can always maintain contact with the your riding buddy, guide, sweep rider and support truck(s). The sweep rider also carries a cell phone or satellite phone (if we are in an area with no cell phone coverage).  We are also members of the Bi-National Emergency Medical Care Committee which facilitates the air evacuation of injured persons from Baja to a US hospital. Staff members of Family Off-Road Adventures are also certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR and use of the AED.  All of these actions are taken to help ensure your safety.  It's only as dangerous as you make it.  Ride within your ability and you'll be fine. It's not a race, it's a trail ride. <Back to top>

Tell me more about the 2-way radios.
Family Off-Road Adventures issues each rider a high quality Motorola 2-way radio and lapel mic.  Each night these radios will be charged up and ready for you the next day. We require a fully refundable $75 deposit on all radios to cover damage other than normal wear and tear.  Damaged or missing radio's will be deducted from your deposit. <Back to top>

Will I be able to stay in contact with my family while on an adventure?
Yes. Most places that we travel to have cell phone coverage. Places without cell phone coverage may have pay phones or phones in the hotel rooms. In an emergency we also have our cell phone or satellite phone available. <Back to top>

Should I bring extra money on my adventure?
Absolutely.  The only thing we don't cover is your bar tab, phone calls, and purchases like souvenirs.  Bringing cash in small denominations works best and tip's for people that provide a service is always appropriate. <Back to top>

What kind of weather can I expect on my adventure?
The weather may change dramatically and quickly anywhere that we ride.  You could begin a day riding in the snow and only a few hours later be doing wheelie's on the beach.  December through March are the most likely months for rain or snow. We never really know what the weather will be like until 5 - 7 days before each adventure. <Back to top>

Do you rent riding gear?
Each rider is responsible for providing their own riding gear. You will be given a list of required equipment and a list of recommended gear. We believe in wearing the best safety equipment available.  We LOVE to ride and know that if we get hurt then we'll not be able to ride for a while.  This is one of our motivations for staying safe. <Back to top>

Do you have an age limit?
We are a family business in the business of serving families so we do not have an age limit for our rides but we do have specification that each bike on the ride must meet.  We are all about riding as a family and want to ensure that you have the opportunity to make this a family adventure.  If you have younger children then please contact us so that we can make arrangements for your whole family to enjoy the adventure. <Back to top>

How much riding experience do I need?
We accommodate all levels of experience.  At a minimum you need to be able to operate your own motorcycle and understand all of the controls, especially the brakes!  Off road riding experience is useful but not necessary.  We do our very best to group together riders of similar riding ability.  It's always best if you bring a riding buddy!  We want all of our guests to have a great time and not feel like they rode terrain that was too difficult. <Back to top>

When is payment required?
We book on a first come, first serve basis.  Your place on one of our adventures is reserved with a 50% non-refundable deposit.  Full payment is appreciated 30 days prior to your adventure date.  All payments must be received in full 14 days prior to departure. <Back to top>

How can I pay for my adventure?
We accept cash, checks, money orders and all major credit cards via on-line payments through Pay-Pal. <Back to top>

Is Baja safe?
You may have heard horror stories or seen on 20/20 or other TV shows about how dangerous Mexico City is. That's NOT showing Baja!  No, the cabbie is not going to rob you and your stuff in the hotel room is as safe in Baja as any other hotel room.  You may have also heard about "Bandito's".  We have been traveling Baja for vacations, races & rides for many years now and in our honest opinion Baja is safer than any good sized city in the US.  Some of the places we stay are at remote locations and don't even have locks on the hotel doors.  It's very safe. <Back to top>
